keyboard

I'm having problems with the keyboard (the on screen one, not a real one - my
stowaway works fine). When you enter a control character it doesn't seem to
be sent as such but just the normal character, e.g. ctrl-c just seems to send
c. Is this a known problem? Is anyone looking at this? I know it's not
critical, but it is rather annoying when you use a command such as ping!
Another problem I've noticed is that autorepeat seems to get stuck on a lot
more than when I used X and the keyboard program in that.
