Handwriting recognition

Hi,

I have recently replace my X-windows ipaq system with the opie one. I prefer opie for it's display and usability, however as I like to run my display in Landscape when I open the handwriting recognition/Keyboard input tools they take up half the screen, Has there been any thought on an xscrib type input where you can write anywhere on the screen? Or a way to reduce the size of the current handwriting recognition/keyboard tools?
