hmmmm.. as I dont have an ipaq, I cant test on ipaqs. But will ask around
about this

please also test the recorded wavs on your desktop to find out if it was
recorded with errors or if its a playback fault. And with sound issues
_allways_ give the kernel version.

good idea. I don't have a sound card so I've attached a wav to this bug.
I've now noticed that crackle seems to coincide with the appearance of
playback window ( i.e. window with large controls forming a circle ).
kernel version is 2.4.18-rmk3

attaching does not help much since they are not shown in mantis

and "kernel version is 2.4.18-rmk3" is not enough, its important that its
>= hh15
(handhhelds.org) revision.
There were fixes to the sound driver.

the wav does NOT crackle on another machine. is there a way to playback
without this noise ?
a scan of 0.6pre1 directory revealed that kernel is at least
2.4.18-rmk3-hh17. I don't understand why different familiar kernels aren't
identified as such when using "uname -r".
thanks for the help.
