Summary: Cannot add new categories
Description:
It is not possible to add new categories. Instead, all you can do is
select an existing category and rename it (using "Add"). This makes it
impossible to organise To-Do and Addressbook items.

Of course you can add new categories- if you open the categories window of
a contact, date or todo item, there is a button "New category" which lets
you add new cats.

If there were such a button, I would use it. There isn't, sadly.

Strange- I just looked at it- there is an "Add" button.
Are you using the device in rotated mode ?
If not please attach a screen shot of your category edit window.

Ah, yes, "Add", sure. I think I understand the issue now. I can create
new categories, but the semantics weren't clear, that if you press "Add"
when the name of an existing category is in the edit box, you get a new
category to edit. My apologies for wasting your time, I should have played
around more first.

No was te of time- the operation is not very obvious, but this has historic
reasons unfortunately.

This is not a bug but a "feature" :-)
