Summary: mail2 doesn't retrieve folder names from IMAP server
Description:
I've configured opie-mail2 to pick up from my Lotus Domino IMAP4 server
In the past this setup has worked (back in the days when I was running
wince) so I know the Domino configuration is correct, mail files set up to
support IMAP etc. etc. etc.
What's happening is that the iPAQ (3630 familiar 0.5.2 opie 0.9.1) seems to
fire up IMAP sessions on the server but only downloads folders named "()"
or with no name at all. It never seems to retrieve any mail even when a
folder is selected.
I've done some sniffing of the connection and have appended a typical
session.
I suspect that there's some problem like the Domino server is using \
instead of / but I don't know enough about IMAP to be sure or opie-mail2 to
know whether this is easily fixable. Looking around the net I see sample
IMAP sessions which appear (to me anyway) to be similar to the session log
attached.
__________
FYI I commented on this in the opie mailing list before reporting it and
there was a reply from Mathew Sheats as follows:
I'm having the exact same experience, only I'm running
courier-imap on Linux. Similar to Chris' problem, my PPC2k1 had no
problem with it, and my other machines use the IMAP service on a regular
basis, but mail2 doesn't seem to be able to make the connection.
