Hi there!
It got a little bit quite on the forum (not to speak of the list), however,
still ppl are on coding and testing and playing with Linux on the Loox720
Maybe it is time for some status survey, what works, what doesn't and maybe
who would assign him/herself to taks *g*
Reference for below list is the current svn kernel
* Suspend/Resume: experimentally works, it is reported to fail to bring back
SD card...however Attish said, it WOULD kinda work for him, just under
console, not under X
* Sound: generic WM8750 driver works in that it puts out sound and lets
control volume, etc... however, all devices are enabled which is kind of ways
too much and unecessary. Additionally headphone/speaker switching doesn't
work yet
* WLAN: ACX driver works, however WPA isn't support yet. There is an
experimental driver on the acx100 project page which promises to support WPA,
however this one uses a differen 80211 softmac implementation than it is in
the current kernel. Additionally it needed to be hacked to work with PCMCIA
instead PCI/USB only (maybe taking the current acx CS implementation as
reference?). The different softmac comes packaged and allows kernel patching
* Bluetooth: seems to work so far, no problem reports yet
* USB: seems to work (:
* Touchscreen: works (: - ppl report display flickering on WLAN or different
CPU speeds
* SD card : well works (: however I think Jan mentioned the SD card
insertion/ejection cant be detected right now...not that important as long as
we boot from SD (:
* CF: works (: however ppl report low speed
* Looxstore / ROM: basically mountable, however right now not doable as the
used filesystem is not known
* IrDA: seems to work, however only using the linux SIR driver, not the PXA
FIR one ...(though there wasn't much testing yet)
* I personally like to mention Loox hanging on setting CPU freq scaling
governor "conservative" when switching under high/low low/high load, device
is not accessable or pingable. ondemand seems to work
I added my kernel .config
---- Ok, further issues welcome, and of course ppl willing to look into one of
them and daring to state this officially
Greez and happy holidays
Harry
