kernel upgrading (trying)

My first opieversion was using the kernel from
http://undcon.com/pda/linux
But as far as I can see and understand it doesn't support usb.

So I thought let's try to compile a new kernel. I encountered
http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/Loox700SeriesHowToBuildAKernel
and a posting of Jan Rinze on an updated SVN
http://www.handhelds.org/hypermail/loox700-port/current/0164.html

I don't really understand what I do, so I just describe it.

I did
$ tar -xjf arm-linux-gcc-3.4.1.tar.bz2 -C /
$ svn co
svn://svn.loox720.admitech.pl/handhelds/kernel26/branches/loox720
/home/rik/kernel26-loox720

I went into /home/rik/kernel26-loox720 and did
$ make
I made sure I filled in the parameters Jan suggested for start address
and dramsize, everything else I used the default value. After this my
.config was updated, but I got quite some errors, see:
http://loox.aoratos.nl/error1.txt
The one that puzzles me is: "arm-pld-linux-gcc: Command not found".

Somebody knows whetter this is a problem, or should I just carry on ?

Thx, Rik
