Yes, you need to load this module.

Left green led is related to wifi. When you load loox720_pcmcia wifi is
also powered (we are in early stage of power management).

WiFi is connected to one of the PCMCIA slots :)
(it's always inserted :) )

In order to boot from CF you will need to build your own kernel with all
modules above built in or create an initrd image.
