I tried yesterday to identify the address area the
WLAN is mapped to but it is difficult to access the
hardware pins of the WLAN-chip on the PCB. I will have
to remove the WLAN chip from the PCB first and then I
might be able to find more information about the
addressing. I am not sure but I think the addressing
in the HX4700 is done through the ASIC3-chip. The LOOX
720 does not have this type of chip, instead it has
two CPLDs from Xilinx that will do the job. Since it
is very difficult to reverse engineer such a CPLD we
propably have to indentify the address offset of the
WLAN module by trying out several diffrent offset
and see if we get a responds from the hardware. On the
other hand maybe it is possible to extend "Haret" with
a function that will search for the memory location of
the hardware we are intrested in. But at the moment I
I do not know how to do this. From the schematic of
the WLAN interface (wiki) you can see that the TI-chip
is connected by to chip select signals (CE#1 and
CE#2).
Does somebody have a schematic of the HX4700 verfiy
this ?
