I looked over a lot of this a while ago. CF has a little more than IDE
so (AFAICT) it requires a simple additional chip to start up the IDE
mode. I even tried hard-wiring an IDE connector to a CF connector and
couldn't get it to work.
As I mentioned, there are some connectors out there...I just don't
remember where.
