  I'd vote for .17 merge - skipping a release will mean it will be
much harder to track regressions from the merge, aggravated by the
fact that we'll be 3-4 month behind mainline then, i.e. it we'll be
harder to get stuff fixed for us if regression was indeed in mainline,
etc.
