That's exactly what I'm suggesting we do - use udev instead where
possible. There will be some scripts required though to mount/umount
things though (and ifup/ifdown network interfaces) but this is a generic
need and not pcmcia specific.

You don't require entries for the devices in fstab which is handy for
unknowns like usb.
