Good point, but I have few objections. :) Code in CVS might be good
reference point, but it quite old. I guess the difference between 2.6.21
and 2.6.25 is quite big.
Things should be mainlined, no discussion about that, but I guess
separate repository for handhelds-related stuff has its reasons to exist
-- sometimes we have patches which might not be that easily acceptable
for mainline or semi-experimental stuff, e.g. gpiodev-keys2, which will
be probably never accepted, as AFAIK only port using it is h5000. I
can't speak for other ports, though.

Yes, but on the other side I'm quite glad that my e-mail was caught by
some eyes:) But still -- since k-d doesn't work anymore, no one actually
sees activity around hh.org kernel, which might be a bit demotivating
for developers.
