Summary: pxa27x_udc doesn't work (at all) when build with RNDIS
support
Product: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.19
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Windows
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: port unspecific
AssignedTo: kernel-bugs_at_handhelds.org
ReportedBy: pmiscml_at_gmail.com
Our vesion of pxa27x_udc driver (not in mainline), when built with CONFIG_RNDIS
option, doesn't work either in CDC Subset mode or RNDIS mode. This was tested
on hx4700, but given that it is handled by pxa27x_udc driver, assumed to affect
all PXA27x devices.
On the other hand, pxa2xx_udc (PXA25x driver, in mainline) works ok (tested on
h4000).
Later, pxa27x_udc (slightly different version though) breakage due to RNDIS was
confirmed in this threads:
http://lists.arm.linux.org.uk/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2006-December/037617.html
http://lists.arm.linux.org.uk/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2006-December/037664.html
That thread also contains suggestions/links/patches for resolution of the issue
(in particular, Zaurus' pxa27x_udc version, maintained by Richard Purdie was
reported to handle RNDIS, plus there's also suggestions for using 3rd-part MCCI
driver for Windows connectivity).
We should review/try other pxa27x_udc versions, and likely select good upstream
for it, as we don't have resources to maintain it on our own.
