My local antispam does its job well. I have minimum spam messages in my
jornada folder. Maybe others are suffering more.

I think as you mentioned the problem is not with this list, but with lack
of its maintenace. This list a general purpose list for jornada for a long
time and has a long history. Moving to another one would cause just to be
harder to reach for new users. Better would be to take control over this
one. Even thou the whole handhelds.org is not the best maintained site and
a lot of people moved to their own projects (like oe, anstrom, jlime
etc.), contacting George France would be the first thing to try.
