[jornada] installing Linux via CF card

I know that there are various Linux projects that install from the CF card -
while I am waiting for the port for my Toshiba 750 I thought I would do some
experimenting on the Jornada 568 - which I bought off eBay - since it is
further along.

I don't have access to a dedicated Linux machine, although I do download and
look at various Knoppix live cds from time to time, so I would prefer to
install from the card. (I'll have a friend partition it.)

I don't want to brick the 568, since I don't have the expertise to fix it. Is
there any plan at all to create some sort of install process for the Jornada,
similar to the ones used by some of the other handhelds.org projects? (I did
get the Psion Linux working once a while back and it was pretty user-friendly.)

This project is cutting edge, I know, but there are a lot of people who aren't
technical wizards who appreciate the other qualities of Linux. Like having
real software without being goudged every time you change pdas, for one. :-)
And being able to use an sql database without jumping through WinCE hoops. I
want a real database badly. And the ability to write shell scripts.

If someone is willing to work with me on this, I will document the process for
the next clueless hopeful who comes along.

Thanks,

Terry
