Actually, that would be very easy. I'm still waiting for a development 720
from John Ankcorn. My plan was to quickly port kernel 2.6 to the 720 (which
should not be too much work) and get the kernel compatible with the 56x (i.e.
same interface for touchscreen, backlight control, LCD control, special
buttons etc...(that's only possible with kernel 2.6 as we need the sysfs)).
The 720 could then share lot's of Opie's jornada 56x code so only a very
little extra code would be needed (like detect the correct device and set the
correct display rotation).
I'm afraid that I can't do much regarding kernel 2.6 and Opie right now
without a device. I hope that will change soon.
