I read the next paragraphs and now I understand what you want to do.
Would be nice to have such kind of "flashable" board.

well, if you remove the cover from your cf card it should fit.

As I said: my info may be vague. Of course it has to be SDRAM.

Don't really know. The only thing I did with kernel 2.6 so far was
changing boot-up asm code to overwrite MACH-type because all existing
binary bootloaders for wince were to old.

Would be a nice idea to re-use cheap cf cards. Hope it really works =)
