Hey all,
I just got a Jornada 568 and want to install Linux on it. I
successfully installed BootBlaster, and backed up the boot rom and wince
image.
What I need to do now is install Linux on the Jornada. I couldn't find
a USB->db9 adapter, so I bought a USB->ps2 and a ps2->db9 adapter;
booting the jornada and watching minicom with this setup didn't give me
any output.
I am curious what it is about the USB cradle that prevents me from
installing the bootldr via it? I don't care so much that it's
impossible, but I want to know *why*.
Also, if anyone here has an extra serial cable they wouldn't mind
mailing to me, it would be greatly appreciated. eBay is a huge pain in
the ass for me because I don't have a credit card. I don't mind mailing
a cheque, or wire transfer of funds for such a cable, I just don't have
a credit card.
So anyways, if anyone can point me in the direction of getting this to
work with USB, or if someone has a serial cable, it'd be appreciated.
Thanks,
-Steven
