unfortunately I don't have one so I can't really try porting 2.6 to it
(although I guess it shouldn't be too hard).
If you ( not you Alex but Lorant ) want to __try__ kernel 2.6 on Jornada
720 you only need to patch little. If you have an original j720 without
replacement daughter board the you'll need to boot linux from wince with
hpcboot from netbsd.
This works for some 2.4 kernels but hpcboot does not set the mach type
for the kernel and 2.6 kernels will fail.
I modified vanilla 2.6.6rc3's head.S to overwrite the mach type and it
works! Please note that this is a __very__ dirty patch so please do not
try to convince somebody to include it in the kernel ;) The problem with
2.6 is that jca's epson1356 (S1D13506 now) framebuffer port was not
accepted by rmk.
I looked at the source but as Lorant I am not very skilled at linux
driver porting ;)

To Lorant: Please contact me for hpcboot and the modificated head.s
Bye Sebastian
