Lots of thanks, for his kindness and for his job, to Peter Gerwinski and to
Kyou,
whose How-To, a perfect guide to install linux on the HP Jornada 720, is
here:
http://homepage1.nifty.com/kyou-kyou/jornada/en/howto_install001.html
He has updated the link to Peter Gerwinski's files, (hdg1-20021204.tar.gz",
"hdg2-20021204.tar.gz" and "initrd-20021204.gz"), with their new site:
http://agnes.dida.physik.uni-essen.de/~peter/<filename>
Thanks a lot to Noah, too, (it seems there is a problem with the Jornada
Archives web).
After these words, I would like to tell you that I have installed Mr.
Gerwinski's version
of familiar Linux easily, (in a few minutes), following Mr. Kyou's How-To.
When it starts,
it shows a beautiful photo as background and you can open a term with
Alt+Shift+X
where you can begin to explore your system.
I have just begun to do this, so I can not say many things, except that it
looks good,
(although you must disconnect batteries to shutdown the machine).
Other interesting Linux or *BSD projects to the Jornada 720 are:

(I still don't dare to replace the ROM)
Thank you,
Mori
