I'll write a new howto tomorrow, so be patient ;)
Of cource the USB cradle will work once linux is on the device. If you don't
have a serial crade, just get the standard serial cable wich is on ebay for
around 1 Euro or Dollar.
The Jornada 56X can be used as a PDA now when running linux. But don't forget
to charge your battery every day as battery live is still (very) bad and the
battery info doesn't work yet ;)
You don't need the backup battery as no data is stored in the RAM.
