Jorge

I can't say for definite but give the latest BootBlaster a try out, you'll
find a link for it on the Handhelds site. I downloaded the latest source and
compiled it using the Microsoft (erk!!) embedded Vis-C which, if you haven't
got it is a whopping great 300Mb+ download!

I have uploaded this version (after compiling it) to my Jornada 568 and done a
"Check of the Bootloader" which confirmed that I have a "Parrot" version
installed.

I then did a backup of this Bootloader image which doesn't take long, couple
of seconds. Then with a deep breath I wrote this backed up bootlader back to
my Jornada...... My PDA is still happily doing its stuff. This confirms to me
that the BootBlaster does do things correctly on the Jornada!

Other options allow you to store an image of the Wince OS, you will have to
make sure that there is greater than 32Mb of "Storage" RAM to do this. If you
do a complete backup of you PDA with Activesync this will make sure that
you've got everything covered. I'm pretty certain that this image is faithful
since the bootloader image reinstalled properly.

One thing I haven't sorted out in my mind yet is.... How do I get the
Wince/PocketPC image BACK into the PDA if the Linux kernel etc doesn't work?
There's a question for someone else to ponder/answer I think!

I'm currently looking into the latest bootldr application which is currently
developed more for the iPAQ. I would hesitate to try installing any of these
bootldrs into you Jornada as yet 'cos I think an expensive brick could appear
on your desk :-)

Hope this helps a little!

Cheers

Andrew
