John, did you manage to get the missing technical info about the Jornada
820? I'm looking at getting one, and would love to contribute to the
cause, as long as not too much reverse engineering (hacking?) needs to
be done. :) I'm sure that there are a few other kernel-hackers out
there that would be willing to help, too...
Do you know whether we'll be able to do a run of flash rom boards for
the Jornada 820 as well??? AFAIK, the Flash ROM chips from the Ipaq/720
should be compatible with the SA-1100 on the Jornada 820, so perhaps
it's just a matter of modifying the 720 Flashrom PCB? The Flashrom
connector on the 720 is 100-pin, whereas on the 820 it's 80-pin, right?
Perhaps we could add an extra spot for connector to a blank part of the
board (if there is space). Of course only one connector would be
soldered onto the board, but it would probably save on PCB manufacturing
costs if there was a 'universal' board.
Hopefully, the Jornada 820's RAM can be upgraded too... There used to
be a 16MB RAM upgrade board available. Does anyone know whether it used
EDO RAM or SDRAM chips??? Can someone with access to a 16MB RAM
upgrade, scan it in and let the list look at the PCB???
Additionally, you mentioned that you were putting up the (summarized)
information about the 56x and 72x on the website. At what URL can we
find this info?

We're looking forward to hearing about this from you. I presume you'll
post a new news article on the website??? Also, if we want to
contribute to the rmk-hh kernel, etc, how do we go about getting cvs
access / submitting patches, etc?
Thanks
