Greetings,

Just to clear up some facts.
Please note that my goal is to get hp7xx supported in vanilla kernel,
therefore I will not add code that are hackish solutions.
2.6.22 will mean a great improvment in default hp6xx support and my hope is
to get 2.6.23 hp7xx working.

Best wishes
Kristoffer Ericson

yes, all aside from slowdown which isn't implemented yet. Power button is to
be linked shortly, the suspend code is already there.

>- swsusp is working?
eh, why? It only used firmware style in suspend to have a quick hack to
veto. And unless we get the proper jumpback adress there isn't much point in
taking up space. It suspends to memory.

yes, external keyboard or onboard? Onboard should be used of course,
external would be handled by some script. Need to see how other boards
handle that, before I look into adding any preference select function.

>- brightness and contrast are ok?
Should be, otherwise you can always change them by hand, editing the
/sys/backlight...

It shouldn't be handled by kernel, again this is a script thing. Believe its
implemented in our icewm image.

If you are going to take the time to port it, please dont do it to OSS. Alsa
is the only thing going anywhere. OSS is obselete and will be removed in the
future. Im available at #jlime at irc.freenode.net with the rest of the
developers if you need anything.
