Re: [jornada] Of whte whales and 720 roms

When we originally made a small batch of these parts (~30 boards)
at labs, we were hoping that as things progressed, users would be
able to get them in quantity from HP APCD in Singapore. Unfortunately,
this did not come to pass, leaving me in quite a quandry.
Making them in small quantities has been quite troublesome
as the 100 pin Molex connector on the board can only be
purchased from distributors in quantities of 2000 (@$4 each!).

Recently, with the help of my manager (money!) and our
purchasing department I have received 300 of the connectors
and permission to build another batch of boards (probably around
200) to give out to people for a quite nominal cost.

In addition to making up the boards, I have to put up
a web page describing installation (I have taken the pictures,
but have not written the text) as well as get the suspend/resume
code working (again!) in the bootloader and kernel.

Although I am not sure how long it will take to actually fab
the boards, I plan to finish up the other tasks as soon as
I can after the holidays (and send out the daughtercards
that I promised to a few people -- you know who you are!).

Thanks and more later,
jca
