Well, I re-checked everything. Wires are quite short now, less than half
a meter. Connections are solid and well isolated.
Still I get the same results.

An additional thing I have realized is that the the chip next to the
JTAG connector gets very hot when I try to start jflash.
I cannot read the model number of the chip because it is somewhat
erased. it is a Motorola ending in 150. It has written '2C1', and at its
left there is an equal one, but with '4C1' written on it.
