You can use either a card reader and a FAT-formatted storage card to get files over or use FTP

Running Linux or NetBSD on this thing in an useful fashion is technically only possible with extensive and very costly hardware modifications as certain functions depend on WindowsCE

You will find the SL-5500 far less usable than the HP7** range , take into account that to get the most out of the Zaurus you will need the HP720LX in exactly the configuration you have now , so you have to carry , feed , and use two devices instead of one

Rainer Keuchel in Germany has developed an open-source toolkit to convert WindowsCE into X-WindowsCE ( no kidding !) including all the usual tools , this includes also the Apache Web server and ssh
