The 560 has the same processor as the 720. In fact, the spec is very
similar. The display controller is different, and runs at a different
resolution. But the rest is very similar, apart from the fact that the
sound uses the uda1341, rather than the uda1344.
Alex Lange mentions that the "1341 != 1344" somewhere else on this
forum I think, which is the reason sound isn't ready on the 560
series. I'm not sure just how different they are. The 720 uses an
SA-1111 "companion chip" to interface with the uda1344; I have found
it difficult to confirm whether the 560 series has such a chip. If it
doesn't, that may be another reason that sound support is more
difficult.
The H3600 IPAQ also seems to have remarkably similar hardware, down to
the uda1341. And, in fact, the H3600 doesn't have the companion chip.
Anyway, that link you sent seems to have some good advice, and will
probably come in useful. :-)

I guess I'll just have to see how it goes. I'd really rather stick to
Oggs, both for patent reasons, and audio quality reasons. Maybe I'll
end up optimizing the Ogg decoder. ;-)

Thanks, I might need it. ;-)
