That USB host chip may physically be too large. :(

And, yes, I was planning on 64-128Megs flash and 64-128Megs RAM (I'm hoping the newer technology chips are denser that their earlier counterparts).

If you do a chip swap on a board, your biggest problem is going to be putting the initial bits into the flash memory. Plus, if you put the bits in before soldering the chips down and if anything goes wrong, you're gonna have a REALLY hard time trying to figure out what.

The plan I wanted to use was to assemble the boards, then use the Jornada's JTAG interface to do the initial programming, but, as of yet, I've not heard of anyone actually identifying the JTAG pinouts on the J720/8 mainboard.

So, the plan I'm now executing is still to assemble the boards and then program them, but I will be using a USB-connected PIC to do the inital programming instead. However, dropping JTAG and adding the PIC has complicated the design.

As to price, it is still too early to tell. I'm hoping the absolute most they will be is US$100, but since this is going to be low-quantity work (20 maybe 25 boards + 5 more for me to short out while testing... ;)), I really don't yet know. The memory and flash parts are pretty cheap nowadays....
