Yeah, I lucked out in a lot purchase. It was included along with its original
HP leatherette slipcase and a 680 without a power supply. No one was bidding on
it so I snatched it up. As it turns out, the keyboard was like new, and the 680
was in such excellent condition I ended up upgrading it to a 690 with a 32MB
module I had sitting around and I'm keeping it for, well, use with Jlime. :)

I've taken a look at the kernel code and it seems that there is support for both
the Newton serial keyboard and the Stowaway keyboard. I don't think it will
take much tweaking to get these drivers to recognize the Jornada external
keyboard as well. Apparently, these keyboards are so rare that no previous
Linux developer has had access to one to play with. Until now, that is.

I also just ordered a few of those IBM IDE PC Cards with external drive bay.
Now it's been done where an old TravelStar external PCMCIA hard disk can work,
so it follows that using this drive bay, I may be able to interface CD drives,
and perhaps a larger laptop hard disk as well.

As far as getting hardware to work properly on Jornada Linux, whether Jlime or
720degrees, here is my current inventory of hardware for testing:

WiFi cards: Orinoco Gold Classic, Cisco Aironet PCM-342, and 3Com Office Connect
with XJack (now *this* card is my favorite, low profile, antenna tucks away, and
lower voltage requirements compared to the other two). I also have a Linksys
WPC11 v.3 (based on Prism chipset) but I'll be selling it soon.

Bluetooth: 3Com Bluetooth card with XJack antenna
Ethernet: Linksys EtherFast 10/100 Integrated Ethernet Port PC Card

Peripherals: IBM IDE PCMCIA drive bay interface (to arrive next week)
Sony MCA-10 Card Reader PCMCIA (SD, XD, SM, Memory Stick) also to arrive next
week
HP Jornada external keyboard, proprietary serial interface

I also am using the extended battery (4.5 Ah) which I intend to crack open and
re-cell with 2400 mAh cells for a total of 7.2 Ah.
