and since its 8 jtag-pins on jornada, there is no "middle", check out the scheme on my link and tell us which pin is broken (if your lucky its pin5 which is not needed for jtag)

to your question: yes its possible to flash your pda with winXP but you need cygwin (as described here

http://openwince.sourceforge.net/jtag/)

i tried myself to get jtag running with cygwin but failed, now im running debian linux
