CF has IDE interface. If you convert any storage/memory card to ide, then
well you do not need any other device driver than ide. If you use any other
device type (e.g. wifi) then you need a driver for that wifi. This
reduction only creates road to communicate with the device, but you still
need a driver to understand the language this device is speaking with.
