Yes, that's a bug. You have "suspended" it with the button and the
display is also shut off again due to inactivity. As soon as activity
is detected, the display is switched on by the display driver.
I can hack something in which prevents that.

Hmm, do you use swap? If so, try turning it off and on again, you may
have swapped out much and swapping to/from cf is slow...
