I never used copy like this. For now I was able to successfully connect
from jornada trought irda with phones GPRS. To find if your phone is
detected take a look into /proc/net/irda/discovery (or similar) - if your
phone is detected then there will be a notice about it in this file.
To transfer files I used to use obexftp or fuse+siefs (this applies for
siemens). Ircp I am aware is not meant for mobile phones, but I could be
wrong.
I use modprobe sa1100_ir; irattach irda0 -s, for gprs I think I also use
ircomm and irtty.
