If you're using unstable, you probably shouldn't. You should make an
initial install from testing, and then maybe upgrade the packages you
need using the instrutions in man apt_preferences. See my mkxdeb
script (that works just fine to create an almost complete jornada820
cross installation from a PC), or the latest post on my blog (where I
use apt preferences to install the latest monotone).

Beware that mkxdeb 1.24 has a bad bug in setup_apt ... it's missing a
few $TARGET in there, which is bad. It's fixed in 1.25 but viewcvs is
lagging behind. My, I should probably be using sarge for some
programs, because fbi seems very broken in testing and unstable alike.
