Thanks for your effort on this, and the 2.6 of iBurst on another list, I
would send you my hardware, but you wouldn't have anything to test it
against.

Thanks for your on going support of the 720!

Subject: [jornada] Familiar 0.8.2 Opie image that fits Jornada 720 CF

I made opie rootfs.tar.bz2 image with some modifications that is
suitable
for j720 and is only meant to be used for Linux started from CF by
linexec.
Most of the j720 features should work with it. You should use it only
with 2.4.31-j720-5 kernel.

If anybody is interested he can find it on
http://www.lowlevel.cz/log/images/opie-image-jornada720-20050407154438-c
ovex.rootfs.tar.bz2

For more details see:

There are only 3 issues left with this image and j720:

* It can not reboot cleanly, so your FS is always dirty (sometimes also
damaged :( ).
This is issue of original f0.8.2 image and I do not know how to work
around it. Reboot always ends up with "hda: lost interrupt". This does
not
happen with different distros and same kernel. This does not happen with

2.6 kernel too.

* Opie is not able to change contrast/brightness throught its menu.
This is due to that these settings are accessable in /proc/jornada which

is not standard place where opie is "setting" it. However you can set it

manualy. (see /etc/init.d/opie how it is set)

* Suspend is "only" slowdown.
This can not be better with Linux running on Jornada from CF, as it is
not
able to resume from real suspend with WinCE in ROM.
