I have successfully compiled mainline kernel 2.6.12.5 with patch and
config from

http://wwwcip.informatik.uni-erlangen.de/~simigern/jornada-7xx/linux-2.6/mainline/

I had to use 3.4.1 toolchain. With 3.3.2 I got error during compilation.

Kernel is working fine but compared to 2.4.31 few things are not working
(triing familiar 0.8.2 opie right now).

1. sound - the driver is probably not in kernel tree/patch?
2. touchscreen (in opie, did not test X yet) is not working. It
is configured in kernel however.
3. suspend button is doing nothnig (apm is compiled in) - related to
suspend problem discussed here?!
4. when I start linexec after wince already running for some time, the
contrast/brightness of screen is set so high the screen is completely
white (unreadable), when starting right after wince boot, then
contrast/brightness is however better compared to 2.4.31

Remains:

1. 5 keys on keyboard are somehow mixed in console
{[ (is }]), ]} (is {[), |\ (is }]), /? (is --?!), altgr (is /?)
- can we change the map somehow? Is this the best possible to achieve?
2. I was not able to discover anything via irda (does it work for anybody?
I tried mobile phone, another notebook - I was not able to detect anything
even in wince, so maybe some hardware problem?!)
