Hi,
Having discovered my ROM / RAM module on my J720 was
flaky I have replaced it with a working one. I now
have a non functioning board spare.
It occurred to me that (just) maybe someone involved
in flashboard development would find it useful. I
cannot confirm which part of it is faulty although it
works well enough to bring up the 'HP Invent' logo and
asks if you wish to erase the contents of RAM before
booting, then freezes at the logo (wont boot WinCE).
This suggests that the card itself and connector is OK
and its a problem with one of the chips. It seems like
it might be failing some kind of POST on the RAM or
maybe the ROM is just corrupted. Are there any kinds
of diagnostic tests that could be performed?
Anyone let me know if this will help with flashboard
development and I can mail it to someone.(I am in the
UK but destination doesn't matter)
Will Crozier
