I've found no difference between madplay and mpg321. The top shows the same
CPU usage.
BTW, I've installed moc, console player, and it is very cool. If I call 'echo
90000 > /proc/sys/cpu/0/speed', the sound still has good quality. Thank you
for your last hack with console blank.
