Hi Rafael,
thanks again for your nice HOWTO. I finally aquired a Linux-compatible
CF-reader yesterday and installed opie 0.82 along with Michaels kernel,
closely following the instructions on your website. However, some things
still seem to be missing. The first problem I encountered was the error
message:
"Warning: unable to open an initial console."
Ok, there really was no /dev/console, so I mknoded one with my normal PC.
The second boot attempt went further, Opie tries to start up and after all
I see:
"qt_init() - starting in daemon mode"
After that, nothing happens for quite a long time, I only have a blinking
cursor. After a break, I get messages like
INIT: Id "s" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: no more processes in this runlevel
but I get no login prompt whatsoever. What am I missing?
Regards,
Jost Menke
