this patch solves the problem on my jornada 720:

it's for a jornada 720 with country code ABB (don't know what it is
exactly, probably something like english/international). does anyone know
how many other j720 country codes there are?
i've made a gpe 0.8.2 image with the patch applied in case anyone is
