Hi,

no you don't need that old gcc, I use 3.4.1 for compiling my 2.6 kernels.

if there are some bits in the code that don't work with the flashboard (i.e.
the flashboard code ;) just #if 0 them out and it should be OK.
Not much of the code needs to be changed. Just maybe also some of the PM code
as PM does definitely not work without a board.
