Hello all,

I have long followed the development of linux on the 720, and am glad
that it is working, congratulations to all who have worked on it!

I am one of many who do not have a flashboard (and yes I would like
one!! ;) ).

The purpose of this post is to ask... Rather than struggle to get a
manufacturer for the flashboards, how hard would it be to interface a
gumstix board to the screen and keyboard? Look www.gumstix.com these
boards are literally the size of a stick of gum - we've been using them
for a project at uni. My idea is to replace the 720 internals with one.
They already run linux, their I/O is well documented, it would 'upgrade'
the 720 to a 400Mhz Xscale and increase the ram. You could have
bluetooth, use the gap in the case that has the modem socket as a
network socket with one of their addon boards, add a sound board, and
probably still have room for more! The only trouble would be interfacing
to the keyboard and screen.

What do people think?

Cheers,

Gav.
