Hi all,
(I hope the list is active cause I haven't seen any posting since November 2004)

I' ve been trying to install Opie on a Jornada 565 over serial cable but I seem
to be doing something wrong.

I've installed bootldr-j56x-64M-2.21.12.bin, backed everything up
according to the
instructions and for the last two days I've been trying to install one
of the ready-made
opie images at handhelds.org/~chicken

I even gzipped some of them since the loader supports .gz file..
nothing (a note follows
on that)

Anyway, the thing that I guess I did wrong is that I used the 64M
loader instead
the right one for me (32MB) because I'm getting
"Erasing sector 00040000" instead of "Erasing sector 00080000"(see below) that
I've read on the instructions which probably suggests that I have only
half of the
memory.

img_size is not a multiple of 4 -- are we sure that's OK?
Looks like a gzipped image, let's verify it...

The big questions is: do I have to get back to wince (if possible),
then install the
32MB loader and then retry or is there a workaround?

And a note: the file command on all the following images:

http://handhelds.org/~chicken/bootopie-j56x-v0.7.2.jffs2
http://handhelds.org/~chicken/bootopie-v0.7.2+unstable14-j56x.jffs2
http://handhelds.org/~chicken/bootopie-v0.7.2+unstable16-j56x.jffs2
I get :Linux jffs2 filesystem data little endian

though for

http://handhelds.org/~chicken/oe/images/opie-image-jornada56x-20050304142135.rootfs.jffs2
http://handhelds.org/~chicken/oe/images/bootstrap-image-jornada56x-20050304142135.rootfs.jffs2
I just get: data

and while flashing these (gzipped) I get

Sending: opie-image-jornada56x-20050304142135.rootfs.jffs2.gz
Ymodem sectors/kbytes sent: 81511/10188kRetry 0: Got 44 for
sector ACK x
Retry 0: Timeout on sector ACK
....

I guess that there's something wrong with these last two images.. Am i right?
