Hi all ,
To answer some of Jacek's questions, here is some information I
gathered:
The modem used in the Jordana is in fact a software modem. However, this
modem is usable without downloading code to it, it can be configured
through the DSP registers. The now disconstinued Dreamcast console from
Sega uses the exact same part for its modem and was running Windows CE
3.0 as the Jordana. Trisignal (the company behind the Windows 3.0 modem
implementation for the Jordana) also did implement the CE driver for the
Dreamcast. Some Dreamcast developers have designed a new operating
system for the Dreamcast called KallistiOS and were able to implement a
driver for the modem. I have included the link to the source code for
the modem driver under KallistiOS. In theory, if we know where the
modem's registers are mapped in the Jordana memory then this source code
could be ported to make a Linux driver.
Link to modem source code (plus datasheets for the modem's hardware):

I hope this information is useful to somebody.
Regards,
Guy Dufour
