Peter,

I have just updated the sources in the handhelds.org
linux source tree for the following functionality:
        1) Power management support for the 720
        2) The second wave of support for the 56x
                Working:
                        Screen
                        Touchscreeen
                        Compact flash
                Not working:
                        Buttons
Touchscreen not tested yet with X
User card interrupt on CF not yet working

Note that if you are using the handhelds bootldr (i.e., you have
an internal flash replacement card), there are also mandatory
changes to allow wakeup after sleep. I am not sure how this
is all going to work for the people running under Wince. If the
Wince boot loader is nice enough to 1) recognize that it is
waking up from sleep and 2) to just to a 'return' to pop the
restart execution address off the stack, then the power on/off
button should work.

If you (or anyone else) tries to debug the power off/on logic
under wince, I can point you at the relevant source files
in the kernel tree (but you should go into this expecting
a fair amount of pain!).

Good luck,
jca
