I've had no luck in either doing it myself or getting help to get Linux
running stand alone on a ROM based Jornada 720 or getting a flash
replacement board with Linux preinstalled. I have got NetBSD to run stand
alone on the 720 with a DD image that somebody else made (it even has
wireless NIC support, I think) but it's NetBSD and I don't know how to use
BSD. So, I got a Palm m505 from a friend and I think I'll just stick with
that. So, unless somebody is willing and can (I know people are busy) help
get the flash based Linux to boot with HPCBoot on a ROM based 720, my HP
Jornada 720 is officially for sale. If any are interested, please email me
at genekennett_at_hotmail.com. I am willing to trade it for a new unopened PNY
GeForce4 Ti 4600 128MB video card with TV Out(which cost around $320 and
which I would prefer) which I think is a good deal. The Jornada is a little
over a year old, in excellent condition with the cradle with USB & serial
cables as well, as the original box with all the documentation and papers
that came with it. Also included is a Kingston 256MB Compact Flash card
which will have the previously mentioned NetBSD image if you would like to
play around with it. Thank you and if you know somebody not on this mailing
list that would like to purchase my Jornada 720, please let them and me
know.
Gene Kennett
