Hope somebody was as brave (or stupid) as I was. Does anybody know how
I can restore the original, backed up saved bootldr and wince_image
files to an HP Jornada 567 that will not power up after pressing
<center-reset>? Thinking that since the processor was the same, memory
was same, in fact, so many things between the iPaq and Jornada seemed to
be the same I made the assumption that I could follow the bootldr
instructions for the iPaq on the Jornada. Silly me. At first, it
seemed like things were going to work; I had made an Active serial
connection, backed up the files required using bootblaster, loaded the
2.18.01 image into the bootldr, verified that the image appeared to be a
valid bootldr etc. All looked well and conformed to the instructions.
I then pressed the center cursor and reset button at the same time as
directed and watched the pixels slowly disintegrate and fade away.
'Now, that ain't right' I told myself, and sure enough - it appears that
this unit is now dead.
Is there any utility I can use to reflash the original image onto this
unit? What the heck happened anyway? I've since removed the batteries
completely and looked forlornly in the direction of my new brick.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much,
Bryan 'Idiot-boy'
