Howdy All, I know I might have asked this here before but is there something
being done about booting linux to the CF on 720s that only have ROMs and not
flash? I have booted the lastest Linux kernel on my 720 with hpcboot and got
kernel boot up messages on my serial and Tux on the 720 screen. I've heard
(and seen in a NetBSD image for the 720) that a small fs can be built into a
kernel that can load CF support then boot from there onto the CF. I've seen
it before, as I said, in the NetBSD image I am currently running on my 720.
I'm not familiar enough with Linux to do this myself but I would like to
either learn and/or help. If someone could start a Kernel project like this
(that would be recompiled at every kernel update, as soon as the person had
time obviously) it would really help the 720 users out there with no flash
memory. One other thing, is a familiar distro going to be made specially for
the 720 that can be installed with the kernel? Please somebody respond. And
I guess from John's last post that there are no flash cards with Linux left,
right? If not, please send me one!!! Thank you.
